Following a successful rosé tasting from around the world, Mandrea Bike realized that a rosé and cheese tasting from France was long overdue.

There were four wines chosen from different regions across France to be paired alongside four cheeses from various corners of the country. Unfortunately, the wines are not from the same regions as the cheeses but between all eight French delights, the majority of the nation is covered.
Vins
- Loire Valley: Remy Pannier Rose D’Anjou AOC
- Tavel: Famille Perrin Tavel 2019
- Rhône Valley: Ogier Cotes Du Ventoux Rose AOC
- Provence: Mimi en Provence Grande Réserve Rosé 2019
Fromages
- Comté
- Bleu d’Auvergne
- Morbier
- Château de Bourgogne
All the cheeses were (as always) sourced from our friends at Global Cheese in Kensington Market.
Les Résultats
One of the tasters insisted to include another wine that they love from Provence at the last minute, which happened to be the one already in the tasting, so there were two of the same wine in the end but only some people caught the trick!
For the most part, the gang seemed to enjoy the rosé from Provence the most, but Tavel’s darker red rosé fared well as a favourite for a few people. These two wines are vastly different colours, one is a soft pink classic from Provence and the other a deep pink from a rosé-only making region called Tavel. Both are dry and crisp.
As for the cheese, the soft and fresh tasting Château de Bourgogne was the first one to disappear, followed by the Morbier. By the end of the night, they were all gobbled up and the wine seemed to have evaporated in the warm summer air.
Drink and eat with you soon,
