Imm – 651 College St, Toronto, ON M6G 1B7
Country: Thailand
Seating: Indoor and limited outdoor patio
Must-try dish: Panang Curry with Beef
Dinner guests: Charleith, Dani P & The 4th
The high: Mandrea Bike’s new favourite spot for Thai, with a few outfits across the city for easy access.
The low: We left having eaten too much and could barely walk.

Mandrea Bike changed gears for the evening letting Dani P ask the food questions and make the decisions for the family-style dinner – she did perfectly and we’d have her back anytime!
Imm came highly recommended from foodies in the neighbourhood and it didnt disappoint in the least. There is a modest patio at the front of the restaurant, but the takeout game seems to be strong even on a nice night for outdoor dinning.
Let’s get straight to the food – some discussion was had over what to order, and not surprisingly, our server Alexandra highlighted the most authentic plates on the menu.
- Mango Salad: A classic to cleanse the palate before getting to the big guns. Not only was this dish presented beautifully, it was also eaten by the gang in a couple of bites.
- Pad Ka Prao with Pork: Part of the fun of this one is cracking the egg and mixing it around the plate with the minced meat and vegetables. Although ths tends to be a more off-the-beaten track dish in Canadian Thai restaurants, it’s quickly gaining status in Mandrea Bike’s food diary.
- Pineapple Rice with Chicken: A picture on the menu displayed the entire pineapple with rice coming out of it – that is exactly what was served and it was amazing. The sweet and sour element to this dish made it stand out from the rest.
- Panang Curry with Beef: How do you go wrong with a Thai curry? This red curry delight was mild in spicy bt bursting with flavour. Top the rich sauce over rice and you’ll be happy for the rest of the night.
- Tom Yum Pad Thai with Shrimp: The grilled shrimp were a hit, and the Pad Thai itself wasn’t too bad. It was the least favourite of the order, but it was running against some high contenders. If anything, it was a meeting of great minds creating a fusion between the traditional Thai soup and the country;s most famous dish.
There was an artistic element to each plate that made it feel like a shame to destroy it simpy to satisfy hunger. Although the must-try dish was the curry, every part of the meal was worth ordering again and again.

KETO ALERT: For all of you disciplined food lovers out there, there are some Keto options available at Imm. Two of the night’s dinner guests are practising the Keto diet and they left with full bellies and still in a state of ketosis. They opted to start with the Chicken Satay without the warm peanut sauce. The chicken was grilled and tender with a cumin flavour to season it. The mild Green Curry with Chicken was allowed on the diet because it’s made withcoconut milk, but beware of the spice and skip the rice. The third dish was the Garlic Sauce Stir-Fry with Beef and heavy on vegetables. It was the favourite of the Keto-friednly options.
With Toronto;s restaurant;s closing for another month and the temperature dropping, takeout is looking more attractive. Imm serves up terrific Thai food – keep it in mind the next time you;re ordering in.
Eat with you soon,
Mandrea Bike
